Everybody just showed leadership in this project. We were all devoted to it and determined to succeed and make it happen.
Connecticut Career Choices (CCC), in collaboration with the CT Office for Workforce Competitiveness and The Center for 21st Century Skills @ EDUCATION CONNECTION, is pleased to announce the CCC Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences pilot program. The CCC Academy pilot program: (1) Uses a research-based and practice-proven experiential instructional model to deliver teaching and learning activities in digital arts, science, and technology to a culturally and economically diverse group of students in Connecticut high schools; (2) Uses an instructional model recognized by the National Science Foundation to develop digital arts, science, and technology curricula for students, grades 9–12; (3) Utilizes the existing CCC blended learning environment for students, teachers, industry professionals, and college faculty to deliver, extend, and enhance science and technology education using face-to-face classroom time and a variety of Internet eLearning technologies; (4) Includes professional development for high school teachers, including strategies to adapt the curricula for all students in all programs.
The Digital Arts and Sciences Academy facilitates the cross-discipline application of academic knowledge, creativity, design, and innovation skills with the integration of digital media into the study of emerging topics in science and technology. All courses feature problem-based learning and comprehensive projects as the primary instructional activities. The CCC Academy is a dynamic model that prepares students to be knowledgeable participants in our 21st century technological society.
